Australian Theremin Kits

Simple kit. The completed instrument puts out a pure sine wave tone.
Theremins have been around for many years but recently they have became popular with bands playing many different kinds of music - the strange eerie sounds that a theremin puts out can be really spooky or even sound like a human voice with an experienced player.
Our theremin is capable of sounds ranging from high end shrieks down to thick growls at the low end. It is played by the motion of your hands around the antennas so it is the only music played without actually touching the instrument. The vertical telescopic antenna is for pitch and the horizontal disk is for volume.
Music output is via rca socket so you can connect the theremin to an amplifier, home stereo or PC sound card. There is also a surprisingly loud built in speaker for practice sessions.

PAiA Theremax

Since its introduction during the 1920's, the instrument which bears Leon Theremin's name has been evocative in image and tone. Theremax captures this age-of-technology spirit in an instrument based on the same heterodyne principles as the original but with embellishments made possible by the economy of integrated circuits and solid state electronics.
In addition to the traditional mellow sine wave tone, Theremax provides a square wave output that is rich in harmonics and ideal for use with external filters and processors. And to control outboard units, there are Control Voltage outputs for pitch and volume. A convenient foot switch input allows muting the internal tone source without disabling the CVs.
But Theremax's most unique features are it's Velocity Control Voltage (proportional to the rate-of-change of volume) and Gate/Trigger outputs. Internally, Velocity is wired so that it can produce transient asymmetrical distortions in the output, and when used with external filters provides a wide pallet of expressive possibilities. Gate/Trigger signals are compatible with both gated and s-trigger synths and CVs may be used with either V/Hz. or V/oct. scaling.

Wavefront Technologies

Makers of two models af theremins, and also a MIDI interface.
Wavefront Technologies was founded in 1995 by the creative efforts of a group of musically and technically inclined and entrepreneurial individuals. Personal inspiration was drawn by the company's chief founder, Gene Mark Segal, from the documentary on the work of the inventor Lev Termen released earlier that year.
Within months Wavefront had developed and brought to market two models of theremins, and to date has provided a wide range and number of clientele with instruments which have been sold domestically and internationally in Japan, Scandinavia and all across Europe.
