3. Cameron Bagpipes

Manufacturers of fine Lochaber oak bagpipes incorporating newly patented hemp free joints.
Cameron bagpipes are made in the tiny and ancient crofting township of Arivegaig on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, at the border of Lochaber and Argyll
Ardnamurchan is the most westerly point of the Scottish mainland. Swept by winds and rain from the Atlantic ocean, the area is wild and rugged, but the passing waters of the Gulf Stream give it a gentle warmth which is reflected in the temperament of the people.

4. Aberdeen Bagpipe Supply

Retail sales of Dunfion bagpipes from Scotland and bagpipe supplies, hand-engraved sterling silver bagpipe fittings and bagpipe music.
Dunfion Bagpipes are the result of Henry Murdo's life ambition. Always a master craftsman in wood working and carving he spent twelve long years getting the tonal pitch of his chanters exactly right. In this he was joined by Pipe Sergeant Angus J. MacLellan. Angus J. is a rare master who has excelled in a number of different piping fields - solo, band, adjudication, and instruction. He is one of only a handful of Double Gold Medallists, having won the competitions at both Inverness and Oban. He was Pipe Sergeant of the Strathclyde Police Pipe Band during their reign at the top of the World Pipe Band Championships, while winning 8 World Championships, including an unequaled 6 in a row! He has judged at the highest levels, at the most prestigious piping events in the world and is often regarded as having "the finest ear" in Scotland. He has instructed innumerable pipers, many of whom are currently competing at the highest levels. Year in year out Angus traveled from Glasgow to Arran to test and check the latest sound. And it was not until he had finally approved what he heard that Henry was able to make his first set for sale.

5. "Henderson Imports, Ltd."

(Acme, MI) Bagpipes, pipes, reeds, drums, piping videos, books, tapes, CDs, accessories.
Our name is a tribute to Alexander Henderson, my great-grandfather, and the man who provided my living link to Scotland. His father emigrated from Aberdeenshire in the 1860s, and spent nearly forty years in Ontario before settling in the United States. It was a desire to honor and continue my family’s Scottish legacy that inspired me to begin piping. Later, genealogical interest prompted my first trip to Scotland, during which I gained a sense of physical connectedness to my ancestors. As I continued to pursue both piping and historical research, I developed a deep respect for traditional Scottish culture, and a wish to help promote and preserve it. This led to the concept of Henderson Imports in the mid 1990’s. Through much determination, commitment, and perseverance, we have moved from a modest beginning in our home, to a space which we quickly outgrew, and then into the modern storefront and warehouse space we currently occupy. After almost a decade in business, our goal remains the same. To achieve this fundamental objective we have broadened our scope beyond the store to include such efforts as educational piping and drumming clinics, community outreach endeavors, and the establishment of a new solo piping competition.
