7. Ampeg

Bass guitars, amps, and accessories accessible through this site. In 1946, Everette Hull, an acomplished pianist and bass player, organized a partnership with Stanley Michaels under the name "Michaels-Hull Electronic Labs." Their mission was to produce a new microphone pickup that Hull designed. The pickup was fitted on the end of an upright bass and was dubbed the Amplified Peg or "Ampeg" for short. In 1986, St. Louis Music, Inc purchased Ampeg and continues the tradition of making quality, musician-satisifying products. The current series of Ampeg Classic models, Pro Series products, "B" Series heads and combos as well as the updated re-issue Diamond Blue Series are among the latest in the evolution of the professional, innovative and feature laden amplifiers available.

8. Aria USA

Find a variety of bass guitars and other stringed instruments. Product, sound room, and warranty information is also provided.
Arai and Company, founded in 1953 in Japan by Shiro Arai, began marketing Aria brand acoustic guitars in 1960, and began manufacturing its own acoustic guitars in 1964, followed by electrics in 1966, using Arai, Aria, Aria Diamond, and Diamond brand names. The Aria brand name was changed to Aria Pro II in late 1975, though this has been used primarily (but not exclusively) for electric guitars. All guitars were made in Japan until 1988, when production of less expensive models was switched to Korea. In the mid-1990s a few models were made in the United States. What follows is a listing of the Aria guitars we've been able to trace through this history. Obviously, this is not inclusive, and you should always take the dates as advisory, at best. Also, this whole listing is primarily related to the American market, but could also reflect dates and models from other markets as well.

9. Azola Basses

Electric uprights, minibass, baby bass, electric bass guitars, acoustic bass, and custom basses can also be arranged.
For the heavily touring bassist, the Lightning Bug made its debut at the 2001 Winter NAMM. It has evolved into a production version which fits into an SKB flight case which is only slightly larger than that of a bass guitar.

Steve's first contribution to the acoustic/electric bass guitar fray was the hollow body Jazzman, with its comfortable shape, size and weight. The Spruce top, f-holes, and floating bridge give the Jazzman upright characteristics in an ergonomically familiar instrument for electric bassists.

The Nouveau is a more recent addition to the acoustic/electric bass guitar line-up, having been introduced at Bass Day LA 2001. It has evolved into several varieties to suit many different applications. A well-balanced, stylish, and extremely versatile instrument - it's another chance for Steve to express his individuality and make his mark in the crowded bass guitar field.
