He was born to a civil serving family on 28 June 1944. After attending several schools of Ankara and Istanbul Universities he became a primary school teacher in 1970. Worked at villages in several parts of Anatolia. He resigned from teaching and started constructing ouds in 1984. His first oud came out on March 1984 after a long period of research studies.
